Did you know? Doc is not only a big fan of VfB Stuttgart, but also of the counselling centre for families and young people. Our practice has been working very well with this centre in Schorndorf for 16 years, which is why Doc would like to introduce it today and tell you, dear parents, about the valuable work it does.
Who can contact the counselling centre? In principle, all parents, all young people - and young people on their own. And then we talk to them to find out where things are going wrong in their lives and what questions and issues are currently on their minds. There are also group programmes for young people in particular.
It is important to know that the people working there are highly qualified. Social pedagogues, psychologists, almost all with additional training in systemic family therapy and so on. In any case, really good, competent contacts for topics such as Behavioural problems, school difficulties, stress in the family, in the partnership.
Excellent work is also done when parents really do separate, and both parents and children can be supported during the separation phase.

Sometimes you really show greatness when you accept a counselling service sooner rather than later and don't wait until the child or family has fallen into the well, so to speak.
Of course, we paediatricians are also contact persons for such issues, but you should know that in principle there are these centres in every district, in our Rems-Murr district in Waiblingen, Backnang and Schorndorf. As I said, we have nothing but good things to say about the Schorndorf centre - hence the recommendation here.
