Hatschi! Der photische Niesreflex
Do you know this? You step into the sunlight and - whoops - you have to sneeze. This phenomenon is called the photic sneeze reflex. Around a third of all people have this reflex.
Medizinisch ist das eine völlig unproblematische Geschichte, es ist auch keine Krankheit. Das einzige, was man damit wohl nicht machen darf, ist, Kampfpilot werden. Mit dieser Einschränkung werden die allermeisten Menschen gut leben können.
Manche, die von dem Reflex nichts wissen, finden es aber gelegentlich albern oder glauben, dass die Person, die immer niest, wenn sie in die Sonne schaut, nur Quatsch macht. Aber die Person kann da wirklich nichts dafür. Die Sache ist genetisch bedingt. Woran es genau liegt bzw. was da ganz genau passiert, weiß man im Detail nicht. Wahrscheinlich werden irgendwelche Nervenbahnen getriggert, die das Niesen auslösen.
Wichtig ist hier also nur: Es gibt den photischen Niesreflex wirklich. Er ist aber kein Krankheitsbild, sondern einfach ein interessantes Alltags-Phänomen aus der Medizin.
